In response to escalating flooding on the east and west forks of the San Jacinto River, the Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HCOHSEM) has elevated its alert status to Level 1 – Maximum Readiness.
As of 11 p.m. on Saturday, rescue operations have been in full swing across Harris County. A total of 226 individuals and 156 pets have been successfully rescued from affected areas, as confirmed by the Joint Information Center.
