HUFFMAN, Texas – While hundreds of people were being rescued by first responders all across the Houston area, one man jumped into action to save the life of an animal.
Raymond Elasko just happened to find himself in the right place at the right time on Friday.

A baby deer, formally known as a fawn, was in the rising waters along Magnolia Point Drive near Lake Houston in Huffman, Texas.

That’s when Elasko took the fawn, who still has its spots, into his own arms. He made sure the young deer was safe and dry.
His friends tell KPRC 2 that the fawn was taken to a nearby animal rescue that helps wildlife.
